Hidden Video Captures Alleged Crime Spree Burglar

Santa Cruz Sheriff's Deputies say the man in this video captured in Ben Lomond may be related to Tuesday's Soquel crime spree.

This man, caught on video doing an auto burglary in Ben Lomond over the weekend, may be the same man

Tuesday deputies were called to the 3800 block of Chardonnay Road in Santa Cruz after a man saw someone with a gym bag leaving his house. The suspect pointed a gun at the man, dropped the gym bag and escaped in a silver Lexus.

The victim threw a glass bottle at the Lexus, smashing its front window, deputies said. The Lexus had been stolen earlier.

After deputies and CHP officers surrounded the area, the suspect reportedly stole a 1997 light blue Ford Explorer on Hall Ranch Road, about 40 minutes later. The license plate is 3TIC192.

Investigators connected the suspect to a string of auto burglaries in Ben Lomond over the weekend, one of which was caught on video.
