Indecent Exposure Arrest Made Near Soquel High

Watsonville man arrested during a surveillance of a trail behind the high school.

A 38-year-old man was arrested near Soquel High School Wednesday by Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies on suspicion of indecent exposure.

The arrest came after a surveillance of the area that was prompted by reports on Tuesday that a man was seen by three female students exposing himself on a trail behind the school. Deputies were called to the area but didn’t find the suspect then.

After returning Wednesday, deputies detained a suspect who matched the girl’s descriptions. The girls positively identified the man whom the sheriff's department later identified as Salvador Quinonez, 38, of Watsonville.

Quinonez was arrested on three counts of indecent exposure and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail. The sheriff’s department said Quinonez’s bail was increased to $50,000 because of the nature of his crimes.
