Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 11:29 a.m.

On arrival, crews began patient assessment and care while setting up a retrieval system using an aerial ladder truck. After the man was brought to the walkway on West Cliff Drive his care was transferred to American Medical Response workers.

The man was taken by air ambulance to Stanford Hospital for additional medical treatment. No information was immediately available on his condition.
