Santa Cruz Police arrested 98 people over the weekend and gave 75 triple enhanced fines.
Santa Cruz Police arrested 98 people over Fourth of July weekend, most of them for public intoxication, DUI, battery and parole violations.
The department, which had its full contingent of 90 officers working, also gave out 75 fines for alcohol and fireworks violations, which were tripled for the holiday.
Police responded to 1,000 calls for service, most of which were for illegal fireworks, according to a report released Tuesday.
