Know this Guy? Man Sought As Suspect In Break-Ins, Thefts In 2 Counties

Authorities in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties are requesting the public's help in finding a man wanted in connection with auto burglaries and other crimes in both counties, a spokesman said.

The Santa Cruz County Auto Theft task force and the Monterey County Auto Theft task force are working together to apprehend the suspect, 28-year-old Matthew Robert Clark, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Ethan Jackson said.

Clark is a suspect in many vehicle burglaries, auto thefts and possible identity thefts in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties, according to Jackson, a member of the multi-agency Santa Cruz County Auto Theft task force in Aptos.

Monterey County has an active $50,000 warrant for Clark's arrest, he said. Clark is described as about 5 feet 9 inches tall with brown hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information regarding Clark's whereabouts may call the Santa Cruz County task force's tip line at (831) 465-7433.
