Man Escapes From Santa Cruz Jail by Using Another Inmate's Name
The Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office says that jailers didn't follow procedures in allowing an inmate to escape.
Santa Cruz Sheriff's deputies are looking to reclaim an inmate who walked out of the downtown jail by using another inmate's name.
Jesse Parsons walked out of jail Friday morning before noon by posing as another inmate who they said "has a similar name and physical description."
"Jail staff failed to follow procedure, and did not confirm Parson's identity prior to releasing him," said Sgt. Patrick Dimick.

Parsons was arrested by Santa Cruz Police on Wednesday and has a record of trespassing, petty theft, substance abuse, resisting arrest and domestic violence.
Deputies say he frequents campsites on the Westside.

He's 35, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen walking toward the San Lorenzo River, wearing a red plaid long sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
