Police Arrest 16-Year-Old on Prostitution Charge
They are still seeking her female pimp.
Santa Cruz Police Thursday arrested a 16-year-old Sacramento woman on suspicion of prostitution, after receiving a tip from someone seeing her advertisement on a website called myredbook.com
The woman, they said, had an arrest warrant in Sacramento. She was arrested in a room at the Torch Lite Inn at 500 Riverside Ave. and booked into juvenile hall. The motel room was booked to an adult woman, but the motel staff didn't follow municipal codes and confirm her identification and keep it on file.
Lt. Steve Clark said that there has been an increase in Central Valley prostitutes using Santa Cruz motel rooms and gangs using the prostitutes for income.
