Police Arrest Parolee for Selling Narcotics, Possessing Stolen Property

Benjamin Dess, 24, was booked into County Jail on Saturday night.

On Saturday evening, police arrested a 24-year-old parolee for selling narcotics, and being in possession of a controlled substance and stolen property.

At 9:04 p.m., police working in the Beach area spotted parolee Benjamin Dess, 24, and Victoria Nicklin, 19, who had a misdemeanor warrant out for her arrest, entering a motel room on the 300 block of Riverside Avenue.

When officers contacted them inside the room, they found five grams of methamphetamine, prescription Vicodin, and stolen property. Dess also had $2,587 in his possession.

Dess was arrested, and booked in County Jail. Nicklin was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

Santa Cruz Police are attempting to local the owners of the stolen property, which includes several electronic devices.
