Capitola Police Searching for Suspects in Friday Afternoon Assault

Two young women were detained; five men who identified themselves as 'white power' are still at large.

A bloody man found earlier Friday in what was thought to be a stabbing was assaulted by seven people who used their hands and feet, not knives, Capitola police Officer Chris Thompson said late Friday afternoon.

The unnamed victim, a 50-year-old man, received moderate injuries and was treated at the scene—a shopping center at 831 Bay Ave., near Hill Avenue, Thompson said. He refused medical transport.

Thompson said the man was assaulted by two women and five men. The women have been detained, but the men are still at large.

The 911 call was placed at approximately 2:40 p.m. Friday.

Thompson provided the following descriptions of four of the five male suspects, all who identified themselves as “white power.” The men have short hair, shaved close to their heads, and one had a dog wearing a "camo shirt."

The first male suspect is described as approximately 20 years old, weighing 180 pounds, with tattoos on his right arm.

The second man is the same age and weight, with a “wrestler-type body” and a brown shirt with “Cage Fighter” printed on it, Thompson said.

The third male suspect is described as 20-22 years old, 180 pounds and wearing a green shirt. The fourth is approximately 18-20 years old, weighing 160 pounds and wearing a brown shirt and jeans.

The victim said the fourth suspect had longer hair than the others, though it was still short. He was also described as being “very tan,” Thompson said.

No information is available at this time on the fifth man or the two women.
