Police Sting on Alcohol a Win, Mostly

Santa Cruz Police sent underage decoys into 16 businesses. Only one sold.

Sometimes police make headlines by arresting no one.

That's what happened Tuesday when police sent minors into 16 stores to try and illegally buy alcoholic beverages.

Almost every one of them sent the minors away. One didn't. That was the Chevron at 404 Soquel Ave. An employee there was cited for the crime of selling to a juvenile.
