Prostitution Sting On Ocean Street Results In 5 Arrests

An undercover prostitution sting last week along the lower Ocean Street corridor netted five arrests of individuals for prostitution-related charges, police said.

The Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team Narcotic Enforcement Team and Gang Task Force, along with Santa Cruz Police Department personnel, conducted the operation Friday on the 400 to 700 blocks of Ocean between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. to combat the solicitation for and prostitution occurring in that area.

During the operation, three females were arrested for prostitution-related charges and two males for suspicion of solicitation for lewd conduct.
