Robber Hits Harvey West Area Credit Union

Police are seeking a man in a floppy hat, camouflage pants and a New York University sweatshirt.

A man robbed Patelco Credit Union at 375 Encinal St. in the Harvey West area Friday afternoon, making off with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

The F.B.I., Santa Cruz Police and a Capitola canine scoured the area after the 1:12 p.m. robbery Friday, but came up empty-handed.

The man, described as 50-60, demanded money from a teller and began hitting a chair with a bag that sounded like it had a hard object inside. The teller gave him money and the man fled, with what was described as a tent bag.
