Santa Cruz Man Jailed on Weapons Charges
Domestic violence restraining order investigation turns into arrest when firearms are found in suspect's house.
What started out as a routine investigation of a suspect violating a domestic violence restraining order turned into an arrest on weapons charges Thursday in Santa Cruz.
Detectives from the Santa Cruz Police Department visited Scott Talbot, 46, at his home on the 100 Block of Plateau Street as part of a domestic violence restraining order investigation which involved Talbot stalking his ex-wife.
After delivering a search warrant and searching the premises, authorities determined that Talbot was in possession of two shotguns and a pistol. One of the shotguns was found concealed inside a hidden compartment in the wall of the home. Possessing firearms is a violation of a domestic violence restraining order.
