Santa Cruz Police Arrest Man for Fondling Children
The east side man is accused of inappropriately touching two 7-year-olds.
Santa Cruz Police Tuesday arrested Suhal Smith Tuesday for lewd acts with a child.
Smith, 39, who also goes by Steve Smith, was arrested after the parents of a 7-year-old girl complained that she had been inappropriately touched during a sleepover two days earlier, while she was asleep.
After investigating, police learned that Smith had allegedly been touching the daughter of his live-in girlfriend also.

He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on a charge of lewd acts with a child. To protect the identity of the child, police are not releasing his street address.
Police are asking for help in finding out whether there are other cases involving the suspect.
