You can file reports and see crime in your neighborhood on your phone

 The Santa Cruz Police Department announces exciting changes to our Community Information Technology. 

Upgraded Smartphone App 

Find out what's happening in Santa Cruzfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Our smartphone app has been updated for iOS and Droid. New features include: 

1. New and improved crime maps

2. New and improved tip submit 

3. File a report through your smartphone 

4. Facebook and Twitter feeds 

5. Community Alerts 

6. Upgraded Scanner Feature 

The smartphone app is available for FREE at the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play. Thanks to the team at MobilePD for their work on improving our App. Droid users will have to delete the old app and download the new version. 

New and Improved Crime Maps 

We have upgraded and improved our Crime Maps. The new Crime Maps include registered sex offender mapping by accessing the Megan’s Law database. To access our new crime maps simply go to

Users can also access our crime map from our Website at 

www.santacruzpolice.com Or by downloading our smartphone app above. 

You can also submit a tip through the Crime Mapping Website. 

New Tip Texting and Webtips 

Community members can now submit anonymous tips through our crime map Website, smartphone app, or a regular sms text. This new tool allows for two-way texting in the event we have follow up questions, etc. 

For smartphone, simply download the “TipSubmit” app from Public Engines at the Apple iTunes Store. The Droid version is coming soon. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by downloading our Santa Cruz Police App above. 

For regular texting – Simply text “TIPSCPD” and your message to “274637” (CRIMES).
