Santa Cruz Roads Closed for Halloween: Will You Party Downtown?

Police will be out in force, as they have been the past three years, but many people say they don't feel safe going out after dark on the holiday. What do you think?

Police will be closing off Pacific Avenue and its sidestreets Wednesday night for the party and parade that has taken over downtown Santa Cruz on Halloween night.

The whole downtown will be a "safety enhancement zone," which means that all fines will be tripled for the night, many as high as $1,000.
