Santa Cruz Surf School Owner Arrested For Child Molestation

The long time popular surf school owner is accused of molesting girls and secretly taping them.

Dylan Greiner, 38, who spearheaded the clean-up of Cowell Beach with a video that showed needles found there, was arrested for molesting two young teens and secretly taping girls changing in his surf shop.

Santa Cruz Police arrested Greiner Friday night for lewd and lascivious acts with children after police found tapes at his home on Modesto Street. Police said he has been pursuing young girls for at least four years.

Two victims were said to be 13 and 14 when he allegedly coaxed them with free surf lessons and jobs at his business and made inappropriate sexual advances toward them.

Police said Greiner admitted to the actions and wrote an apology letter to the girls and the community. Detectives believe there are more victims who were secretly taped in dressing rooms at the Santa Cruz Surf School.

Greiner is held in Santa Cruz County Jail on $500,000 bail. The lifelong Santa Cruz resident released this video in November of Cowell's Beach.  Here is a video he made of teaching kids to surf.

Police couldn't say yet how they started the investigation.
