'Stabbing Victim' was a Suicide

The 57-year-old man found stabbed to death on his Cypress Avenue driveway last Tuesday morning wasn't a homicide victim, but a suicide, Santa Cruz Police said Monday.

The coroner's report came back with the finding that the wounds were self-inflicted, said Deputy Chief Steve Clark.

Earlier, Clark told the press that police weren't searching for a suspect and were awaiting a report from the medical examiner.

The man's body was found on the 200 block of Cypress Ave. at 7 a.m. Tuesday by a woman walking her dog.
