Three Arrested In Downtown Halloween Celebration

One man arrested with a gun, two others for drug possession in downtown Santa Cruz on Halloween Night.

Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputies made three arrests at a public Halloween celebration in downtown Santa Cruz Wednesday night, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies provided additional support to Santa Cruz police throughout the evening and made the arrests along Pacific Avenue.

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Andrew Mora, of Salinas, on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm with a gang enhancement. Mora, who is on parole in Monterey County, is a known gang member and was in possession of a loaded .22-caliber gun in his waistband, sheriff's officials said.

Jeremy Murphy, 30, of Ben Lomond, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Deputies found Murphy in possession of 1.9 grams of methamphetamine, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's deputies also arrested Billy Hill, 30, of Santa Cruz, on suspicion of possession of approximately 5 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine. Hill was also booked for resisting arrest.
