Transient Found Stabbed New Year's Day Outside Downtown CVS

The man who was bleeding from the hand was taken to Dominican Hospital. He wasn't sure where the attack occurred.

Santa Cruz Police were called to the parking lot outside CVS drugstore on Front Street after employees reported a man bleeding and laying on the steps by Soquel Avenue.

The man was apparently intoxicated, police reported. He was stabbed in the palm and had a swollen face, apparently from falling, he said.

He couldn't remember where the attack occurred. He said his assailant was 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 140 pounds and white.
