Who Smashes Up A Flower Shop? Oh, These 4 - Allegedly

Santa Cruz Floral was burglarized over the Easter weekend.

An alarm at 3:15 a.m. Saturday at Santa Cruz Floral on Ocean Street drew officers who found the glass front door and an inside glass door to a cooler smashed.

Alert witnesses reported a gray 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer was seen leaving the area, and the Santa Cruz Police Department said officers located the car, with four occupants, at Chevron at Ocean and Water streets.

"Seems our suspects forgot to fill up prior to committing the heist and trying to get out of town," says police.

The four suspects, three from Castro Valley and one from San Leandro, reportedly came to Santa Cruz for a party, police said.

All four had glass shards in their shoes after walking through the broken glass from the front door, and then breaking the cooler's glass door, according to police. They also were in possession of items stolen from the floral business, police said.

Arrested and booked into county jail on burglary-related charges were: Rebecka Quezada, 18, Castro Valley; Diego Delgado, 19, San Leandro; Landon Spearman III, 18; Castro Valley; and Matthew Timney, 20, Castro Valley.

Quezada also was carrying narcotics without a prescription, police said.
