Woman Robbed on the Levee Tuesday Morning

She was walking alone on the levee at 1:50 a.m.

A 23-year-old woman was robbed on the levee Tuesday, according to Santa Cruz police.

At 1:50 a.m., police received a call from the woman, saying she had been robbed 20 minutes earlier. The robbery occurred on the west levee near the Laurel Street Bridge.

She reported that she was walking alone when two white men, ages 20-25, went up behind her and pushed her down while grabbing her purse. One may have been wearing a red flannel shirt. She suffered a hand injury as a result of the robbery. The men fled with her purse.
