      A revolution in political communication has evolved with Facebook, Twitter, You-tube and other means of assessing concerns, communicating messages, raising funds and mobilizing supporters. 

      These changes give a megaphone to groups who master this technology, permitting a much wider distribution of message and mobilizing support.

      All three of the participants in this dialogue played important roles in the 2008 election of President Barack Obama, whose campaign pioneered motivating and mobilizing through this new media.

       Questions to be answered are “How has political communication changed in the electronic age?”  “What goes into a successful campaign?” “What are some other examples of successful campaigns?” “How do you reach populations who vote but may not be computer literate?”

        The program is co-sponsored by the Democratic Party of Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Democratic Women s Club.  Admission is free.
