Planning Commission Meeting

The City of Santa Cruz Planning Commission meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7pm in the City Hall City Council Chambers. The Planning Commission is empowered and required to hear and decide matters relating to the application of the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance, including appeals under the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance. Additionally, the Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on the adoption, amendment or repeal: of the General Plan, Title 24 of the Santa Cruz Municipal Code, the Zoning Ordinance; any specific or area plan; or the Local Coastal Program for the physical development of the City. The Commission may also make recommendations concerning proposed public works and the clearance and rebuilding of blighted or substandard areas within the City, and undertake studies in the area of planning and zoning and make recommendations to the City Council and other City organizations.
