Their 8-pound, 2-ounce baby was born October 2.

The halls of city hall were filled with congratulations Tuesday as Mayor Ryan Coonerty, 37,  returned from a short leave while his daughter, Daisy, was born.

The Coonertys have been keeping quiet about the birth, causing a lot of requests for pictures and news on his Facebook page.

He sent this text after the city council meeting: "Both parents r thoroughly smitten."
