Santa Cruz Courthouse on Furlough Friday

Forced vacation days will make life tougher for those who need the courts.

Some Santa Cruz County Superior Court offices and services will be closed Friday for a forced furlough.

Although clerks’ offices will be open in Santa Cruz from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., wait times could be longer than normal, because many other workers will be furloughed.

Court users are encouraged to use the court’s website at santacruzcourt.org to pay traffic and criminal fines electronically.

The Watsonville courthouse will be closed completely; however, drop boxes will be available at clerks’ offices in Santa Cruz until 5 p.m.

This is the last of the court’s furlough days for the fiscal year, which ends June 30.
