Santa Cruz Public Libraries Will Trade Fines for Food

You can lose up to $20 of outstanding fines by bringing in cans of food.

Santa Cruz Public Libraries will forgive scofflaws during National Library Week, April 8-14.

For each non-perishable food donation, the library will forgive $1 of your late fines, up to $20. Fines for lost or damaged materials will not be waived.

All donations will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank, the non-profit organization providing food and basic necessities to people in Santa Cruz County, half of whom are children.
