State Assemblyman Bill Monning Was Shocked by Governor's Veto

He says he sees it as a sign of hope, even in the face of the Democrats' hard work to pitch a balanced budget.

Speaking at an art opening in his Santa Cruz office Friday, State Assemblyman Bill Monning said he was shocked at Gov. Jerry Brown's veto this week of the state budget, but said he hoped that Brown's focus on increasing revenue (read taxes) as well as cutting services, is promising.
