* At 1:30 p.m. the council will meet in closed session to discuss legal cases, including the federal case filed by Occupy Santa Cruz, asking for respect for its First Amendment rights and allowing it to use San Lorenzo Park as a campsite for the movement. The city already cleared the park last week.

 * At 3 p.m., as the redevelopment board and council, it will hear publicly a request by Boy Scout Troop 618 for a once a year BB gun firing test to qualify for a merit badge. This would be an exception to the city's firearms ordinance, but is recommended for approval by the city's staff.
