Santa Cruz Real Estate: Fast Sales for Higher Prices

Santa Cruz's median home prices rose significantly from spring 2012 to this spring, but remained tens of thousands of dollars lower than the peak of the market five years ago.





Check out the latest data released by MLSListings Inc. on Santa Cruz County real estate, which shows that compared to five years ago, homes are selling faster and at a higher price.

Median home prices in Santa Cruz for the three month period of April to June rose 20 percent from 2012 to this year, but were far lower than five years ago, according to the MLS Listings. Across the county, home prices rose an average of 21.1 percent this year when compared to a year ago, though they are slightly down from 2008.

June's median home price in Santa Cruz was $643,500, a 21.5 percent rise from a year ago, when it was $505,000. The median home price for the entire county last month was $586,000.
