"A History Mystery: Was J. Robert Oppenheimer, 'Father of the Atomic Bomb,' a Soviet Spy?"

Our Distinguished Alumni Lecture this year will be given by Gregg Herken (Stevenson ’69) and is entitled: "A History Mystery: Was J. Robert Oppenheimer, 'Father of the Atomic Bomb,' a Soviet Spy?" A Professor of History at UC Merced, Gregg is a noted scholar on nuclear history and the history of the cold war. He has served as a Curator and Chair of the Department of Space History at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum and a senior research and policy analyst for the President’s Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments.
