Monarch Community School Open house

Monarch Community School has provided Santa Cruz an alternative, public elementary school for more than 30 years. Monarch uses an inquiry-based, thematic, integrated curriculum and is committed to hands on learning. Monarch follows a positive discipline approach and has a focus on parent participation. Curriculum and instructional strategies are planned collaboratively and adapted to the learning styles and developmental stages of each student.  Monarch has 90 K-6 grade students in 4 multi-age classes. 

Enrollment in Monarch is by lottery during Santa Cruz City Schools annual open enrollment period (March 12-30, 2012). Attendance at an open house is mandatory to enter the 2012 lottery. No inter-district transfers.  Event is for adults and lap babies only, please leave children at home.
