YouthSERVE and the Senior Computing Center at Louden Nelson Community Center have joined forces to help local seniors navigate technology and social media in the digital age. As “digital natives,” young people are the perfect candidates to help seniors learn how to connect with online technology.
Seniors are invited to drop-in on Saturday March 10th from 12-3PM for a bi-monthly workshop designed to provide them with the technology skills they need to connect with family and friends. Volunteers will be on hand to show participants how to use social media and personal electronic devices or answer any other technology questions seniors may have.
YouthSERVE has mobilized a corps of young people to volunteer their time and share their online expertise. All workshops are led by local teens with an adult supervisor on hand to answer any advanced questions seniors may have.
Note: Seniors must bring their own devices, Apple and Windows computers are provided.
All seniors are welcome to attend. Questions? Please contact Kim Fryer (831) 420-6178.
Are you a teen interested in volunteering for this event? Please contact Youthserve Coordinator Jacob Wynne at (831) 427-5066 or ys@scvolunteercenter.org.
