Teams in the SCCAL Santa Cruz high conference scrimmaged for 12 minutes at a time and showed their stuff to fans.

It was Friday Night Lights at Cabrillo College Friday night, as local teams took to the field against each other. Santa Cruz, Harbor, San Lorenzo Valley, Scotts Valley, Soquel, and Schools unveiled starters and reserves. They played 12-minute scrimmages.

St. Francis, which was winless last year, tied for first with a tough Soquel team at the Jamboree, with 48 points. Scotts Valley showed strong defense in third place at 33, followed by SLV, 28; Santa Cruz, 22; Aptos, 21; and Harbor, 19.

Santa Cruz High coach Bubba Trumball said he'd consider "toning it down" to write a column. Yeah, baby.

Give us your predictions for the top teams in the league this year and feel free to submit your pictures or identify the players in them.
