Readers' Choice: Where is the Best Preschool?

You want your child's first experience away from home to be a positive first step. What preschool would you send readers to?

It's not like the choice of a preschool is going to determine what college your child goes to...or is it?

Your kids' introduction to school may set habits and patterns that will follow them for the rest of their lives.

From state-run preschools to church-based programs to private schools, there is great variety of preschool programs in Santa Cruz. What school do you trust your toddler to?

Vote for your favorite in the poll below.

Here are some that readers have supported:

You can also help concerned parents by telling why you like your school in the comments below the story and you can click on the links above and rate the business on its Patch Place listing and leave a review there.

If there is another local school we missed, tell us in the comments section below. The winner will be selected based on votes, ratings, reviews and comments. Please vote in the poll only once. In the event of a tie, we will break it based on the comments, so please explain your choice.

Because our poll isn't scientific, it won't be the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, who will base their decision on the poll results, ratings, reviews and comments. Readers are asked to please vote only once per survey, per Patch site.

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Winner will announced at noon Friday and will receive a "Patch Best Of 2012" certificate.

If you know of a great school nearby, you can vote for the Readers' Choice Preschool at Capitola-Soquel Patch, Scotts Valley Patch or Watsonville Patch.

Happy Days CLC cared for my kids from the age of 4 months until kindergarten started. The staff rarely changes (happy staff!) and my kids still talk about their caregivers - Robin the Hugger, Erica the Ever Cheerful, Kristina the Patient.. the list goes on. Toby, the owner, will play his guitar and sing with the kids at a drop of the hat (or pacifier). My husband and I both work full time, and leaving our kids all day long with a daycare facility was made much easier when we realized our kids were gaining another family. We still get together with parents and children from Happy Days - our community remains strong years after.
