See Mother-Daughter Artist Team from Santa Cruz at Upcoming Fairs

The fabulous jewelers will be at Beth Purcell Mosaics' spring fair May 31 - June 1 in Santa Cruz.

If you plan to attend some upcoming arts and craft shows in the area, be sure to look for the handcrafted jewelry of a Santa Cruz mother and daugher -- Musi Hunt and Vanessa Mellet.

Musi -- of Musi Jewelry -- studied art in Peru and Paris, and had her first show of drawings and illustrations at Gallerie Suzanne de Connich in Paris in 1967.

Her daughter, Vanessa Mellet  -- of Vanessa Mellet Jewelry -- has apprenticed with both of her parents since her early childhood and now creates her own designs in a similar spirit.

Musi and family have been working together for 25 years, first in Peru and Brazil and for the last 15 years here in the Santa Cruz creating original jewelry in silver, gold and copper. They use a large variety of techniques, most recent of which is enameling.
