Actor Gerard Butler and his entourage packed up their gear and left the pizza parlors and cliffs of Santa Cruz behind many months ago. Today, just while we were forgetting they ever came, the trailer for Chasing Mavericks hit the web.
Set to open in theaters on October 26 of this year, the film which locals were calling "Of Men and Mavericks" is now titled Chasing Mavericks. It follows the late local legend Jay Moriarity (played by Jonny weston) and his older mentor, Rick "Frosty" Hesson (played by Gerard Butler), as he pursues the monster swell of Maverick's.
"One wrong turn, you're hitting the water like concrete at 50 miles an hour," Butler gruftly tells a young Jay Moriarty in the movie trailer.
See of the movie filming on Pleasure Point back in October of this year.
