Started by professional surfer and three-time Mavericks winner, Darryl "Flea" Virotsko, FleaHab is a non-profit organization that helps recovering addicts overcome their substance abuse and addictions by replacing it with surfing and physical activity.
"So far, ten people have enjoyed the FleaHab experience, replacing drugs and alcohol with exercise and a healthy lifestyle. We've had great results and we know the system works. Now we need a house to provide an ongoing sober living environment,” Virotsko said.
Virotsko is now looking to buy a house somewhere in Santa Cruz County to use as a sober living environment for FleaHab.
Saturday May 19 there is a Zumba dance fundraiser to raise money for this goal. For $20, join Virotsko and his friends and family and get your blood pumping and heart racing while donating to a good cause.
There will be a raffle, light refreshments prizes and live conga drums!
