Finally, You Can Look Like a Santa Cruz Warrior, Even if You Are Short

The blue road jerseys are on sale starting today. They can be customized and ready by opening day, Nov. 22.

The biggest question asked around Kaiser Permanente Arena during the Warriors debut season wasn't about the standings. It was about where you could buy a jersey like the players wear.

Demand got so high that someone started a Facebook page called I Want A Santa Cruz Warriors Jersey, that got 512 Likes.

"Not many teams in the D-League sell jerseys because of turnover of players, and we were trying to determine the demand in the market during our first year," said team spokesman Matt DeNesnera. "Now that we know jerseys are in demand here in Santa Cruz, we’re carrying them!"

Wednesday, they arrived. No, they aren't the official jerseys worn by the players, but good replicas. They aren't stitched, but have raised lettering. And, because the players turnover so often (off the court, not on it), they are blank so fans can put whatever name on it they want.

They aren't cheap, but are about half of what an official jersey would cost. Adults pay $50 for the blue road jersey and $25 to customize it. Children pay $35 for the jersey and $25 to put whatever name or number on it you want. If you order now, they will be done by Opening Game Night, Friday, Nov. 22.

You can buy them at the Warriors offices at 903 Pacific Ave.
