Five Santa Cruz Warriors Earn All-League Honors

Leslie on All-D-League Team, Hannah on All-Defensive Team, Machado on All-Rookie Team

Five members of the Santa Cruz Warriors -- guard Travis Leslie, guard Stefhon Hannah, center Hilton Armstrong, center Mickell Gladness and guard Scott Machado -- were named Friday to various NBA Development League All-Star teams as voted by the 16 head coaches.

Leslie, the NBA D-League All-Star Game’s Most Valuable Player, has been named to the All-NBA D-League Second Team along with center Tim Ohlbrecht of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, guard Cory Joseph of the Austin Toros, forward Kris Joseph of the Springfield Armor and forward Damion James of the Bakersfield Jam. 

The First Team consists of the Vipers  guard Andrew Goudelock, who is now  in the NBA playoffs with the Lakers,  Bakersfield Jam's guard Jerel McNeal and center Brian Butch, Fort Wayne Mad Ants forward Tony Mitchell, the 2013 NBA D-League Rookie of the Year, and Sioux Falls Skyforce forward Demetris Nichols. Santa Cruz's Armstrong and Hannah received honorable mention honors.

Hannah, who earlier received  his second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year Award, headlines the All-D-League Defensive First Team, while Armstrong is on the Second Team and center Mickell Gladness on the Third Team. Hannah was joined on the first team by James, Canton Charge guard Jorge Gutierrez of the Canton Charge and  Maine Red Claws forward Chris Wright and center Fab Melo.

Armstrong's Second Team teammates are Cory Joseph -- the only other player on both the All-League and All-Defensive teams -- Idaho Stampede guard Justin Holiday, Maine Red Claws forward Mark Tyndale and Rio Grande Valley guard Toure Murry.

Machado, currently on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, named to the All-NBA D-League Rookie First Team along with Kris Joseph, Mitchell, Gutierrez and Melo. The Second Team consists of Vipers guard Glen Rice Jr. and forward Chris Johnson, Austin Toros forward JaMychal Green, Tulsa 66ers guard Dominique Sutton and Canton Charge center Micheal Eric.

Players in the Game 2 of the D-League Finals on Saturday in Hidalgo, Texas, are the five Warriors and the Vipers' Ohlbrecht,  Rice, Johnson, Murry, who is also on the All-Rookie Third Team, and guard D.J. Kennedy, who is on the All-D-League Third Team.
