Three Men Robbed Dell Williams Jewelers Downtown Thursday Afternoon

Santa Cruz Police are looking for three men who pepper sprayed clerks and fled in a stolen Audi A7.

Three men robbed Dell Williams Jewelers shortly before 1 p.m. Friday, but ran away when they couldn't smash a jewery case.

The three ducked into a waiting black Audi getaway car, drove wrecklessly through town and down River Street. The car was found on the 100 block of Fern Street, on the Boulder Creek side of River, east of Highway 1.

The three were in black ski masks. Two wore black hoodies and a third wore a grey one. All were said to be in their 20s and one was significantly taller than the other. They were said to be dark complected, either black or hispanic.

There has been a rash of similar robberies in Danville, Corte Madera, Campbell and San Carlos.

Police said the car was stolen two days ago from Audi of Oakland, but hadn't yet been reported.

No one was hurt in the robbery, however clerks were treated for inhalation of pepper spray at the store by EMTs. A fan was brought in to clear the air.
