Get Out! A Flock of Seagulls, Mural Painting, and a Book Festival with Salsa Lessons

FRIDAY:

Flock of Seagulls, Live at the Boardwalk!

When/where: 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on the boardwalk next to the Pacific Ocean.

What: Two band line up, with Flock of Seagulls and special guests Animation. "A Flock of Seagulls is a 1980s British Grammy Award-winning electro-pop band well known for their bizarrely teased haircuts," writes the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

SATURDAY: 

Where/When: Saturday from 8 a.m. till dark. in the Kings Village Shopping Center of Scotts Valley. You know the big blank wall of the Cineplex? Yeah, that's the one!

What: A community event! Local artists selected by Scotts Valley Artisans in a contest for the mural project will paint the wall of the Cineplex in an all-day event. Members of the community are invited to come watch, help, and enjoy food, art, snacks and music! 

Price: Free!

Ok this one's not free... But the money goes to a good cause..

Homeless Garden Project's Sustain Dinner

Where/When: Natural Bridges Farm, Saturday at 4 p.m. Goes till 7 p.m.

What: 3-course, family style dinner served on the farm.

"These dinners focus on sustainability, eating local organic food prepared by exceptional chefs, and enjoying community of new friends and old. All to benefit Homeless Garden Project's innovative slate of programs," —HGP

SUNDAY:

Festival of the Book!

Where/When: At Harvey West Park, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

What: The Santa Cruz Public Libraries 12th Annual Festival of the Book  It's an end of the summer reading program celebration, which offers food, fun, and entertainment for the whole family. Salsa Rueda performance, demonstration, and instruction, plus crafts, facepainting, and kids only book sale!
