Warriors defeat D-Fenders

Team returns home Tuesday after long five game road trip.

The Santa Cruz Warriors avenged their loss last night, defeating the Los Angeles D-Fenders 108-1095 in a game full of record-breaking performances.

Seth Curry scored a game-high 29 points while dishing out a franchise-record 13 assists.  Dewayne Dedmon, aka Mr. Double-double, did just that as he scored 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, another franchise record for the Warriors.  It was Dedmon's fifth consecutive double-double for the Sea Dubs.

The Warriors (7-3) struggled during their road trip to start strongly, but they managed to get going early as they led by as many as 12 points in the first-quarter, ultimately taking a nine-point lead into halftime.

Manny Harris, coming off his 41-point performance last night, led all D-Fenders (2-5) with 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting.

The game saw 12 lead changes in the second half, and the game tied up at 102 with 51.8 seconds remaining.  It was a Dedmon turnaround jumper with 31.3 seconds left that put the Warriors up for good.

Cameron Jones scored 21 points for the Warriors, while Kevin Kotzur added 11 points and snagged 6 rebounds.

The D-Fenders found scoring from Brandon Costner, who had 15 points and Travis Hyman pulled down 12 rebounds.

The Warriors finish their five-game road trip 3-2 as they head back home Tuesday to play against the D-Fenders once more.  The game is Salvation Army Night, where the team will be wearing specialty red which are to be auctioned off that evening.
