Warriors rebound against Jam

Dewayne Dedmon makes return to Santa Cruz squad.

After a short-stint with the Golden State Warriors, Dewayne Dedmon returned to his D-League roots Tuesday night, leading the Warriors (5-2) to their first victory every in Bakersfield (3-5), 111-103.

Dedmon recorded a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds.  Seth Curry, after working out with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this week according to a Yahoo! report, scored 25 points and dished out eight assists.

Not to be outdone, fellow teammate and D-League prospect watch list member Cameron Jones also scored 25 points and snagged seven rebounds.

James Nunnally scored 24 points, all by way of three-pointers, shot 8-for-17 from the field.

The Warriors started the game slow, trailing after the first quarter by a score of 36-25, but managed to turn their fortune around in the second quarter after going on a 19-to-7 run to take the lead.  The Warriors took the lead into halftime, 51-50.

The Sea Dubs controlled the game the rest of the way as Hilton Armstrong and Dedmon combined for three blocks apiece, forcing the Jam to settle for outside shots mostly.  The Jam shot 35 percent from three-point range compared to the Warriors, who shot 47 percent from downtown, including Jones and Daniel Nwaelele who each drained three three-pointers.

Orion Outerbridge was waived by the Warriors earlier today to make room for Dedmon.

The Warriors play the Bakersfield Jam again on the road Thursday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
