Where:  Peace United Church at 900 High Street

Why Go:  Help support Unchained, Inc. with your donation of e-waste, clothing, and other items to raise funds for animal support therapy with the help of troubled youth in our community who also benefit as they may feel inspired to improve their own lives by helping canines in need.

Cost:   Free.  Please donate any items in fair condition.

What:  Cookbook Club:  The Ayurvedic Vegan Kitchen

Why Go:  Cookbook author and Chef Talya Lutzkerf , creates an amazing vegan dish from her book and then enjoys the meal with the class.  Everyone goes home with a copy of ‘The Ayurvedic Vegan Kitchen.’

What:  Winterpalooza:  A Family Festival

Where:  Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History ‘MAH’

Why Go:  A Winter Wonderland exists at the ‘Mah,’ in the midst of this summer like weather, as it’s transformed into everything snow, craft fun, games, and hot cocoa.

Where:  The Catalyst Atrium

Where:  The 418 Project at 418 Front Street

Why Go:  This funk break beat benefit brings much needed awareness and funds to the Walnut Ave Women’s Center.  Dinner by India Joze and special guests the Mystic Trabadours provides the musical entertainment.  Don’t miss this funky event!

What:  Santa Cruz County Symphony Concert ‘Immortal Love”

When:  8p.m.  (2p.m. Sunday at the Henry J. Mello Center in Watsonville)

Where:  Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium

Why Go:  Romeo and Juliet and Tristan and Isolde, are among  some of the world’s greatest love stories that will be brought to life in this musical concert performance featuring Baritone Yunpeng Wang from the Metropolitan Opera and Mahler, Wagner, and Prokofiev.

What:  Fruit Trees 101:  Basic Fruit Tree Care

Where:  UCSC Farm at UC Santa Cruz

Why Go:  Orin Martin and Sky DeMuro of UCSC's Alan Chadwick Garden teach the basics of winter pruning, fruit tree planting, pest control, and irrigation.
