Why the Music World Needs Chris Rene

What the music world is authenticity. Someone that communicates their soul through their music; where emotion is real and chords can communicate as much as words.

In some ways the music business is coming full circle. Through the 1940s many songwriters were performers. Then in the 1950s and 60s great writers like Lieber and Stoller wrote for great performers. Through the late 60s and 70s the era of the band came and went and performers came back en vogue. And heading past grunge and into bubble gum something was lost.

Music seemed to become transient – songwriting formulaic. And one can’t help but watch Chris Rene on the X Factor and realize he isn’t from this formulaic mold. He is what the music world needs; a great songwriter and a great performer. Sure, some say he may not have the best voice on the competition. But who cares? This isn’t a karaoke contest.

See, what the music business needs (and what music fans seem to be asking for) is authenticity. Someone that communicates their soul through their music; where emotion is real and chords can communicate as much as words. It’s hard to get that from some of our top 40 friends right now.

I think the music world needs Chris Rene. It’s asking for someone to be real and to transcend the established norms. In many ways, it’s looking for someone that is a reflection of our own region. This is why James Durbin connected and this is why Chris Rene is connecting. We live in a unique and special place. And Chris Rene ‘s talents and music are a reflection of that.

Now we owe him our support. Santa Cruz County, let’s help Chris win this competition. The music world will be thanking us.
