<p>Santa Cruz was first incorporated as a town in 1966, and 10 years later, it received its first city charter. The city of roughly 56,000 residents lies along the Central California coast. It's known for its lush redwood forests and rolling beaches.</p> <p>The offices of the City Clerk, City Manager and City Council are located in downtown Santa Cruz's City Hall. The architecture and gardens with multiple fountains are reminiscent of Santa Cruz's early days as a mission.</p> <p>The City Council is led by Mayor Mike Rotkin and includes council members Catherine Beiers, Don Lane, Tony Madrigal, Cynthia Mathews, Lynn Robinson and Ryan Coonerty.
