Santa Cruz Barrios Unidos
The mission of Barrios Unidos is to combat violence in urban neighborhoods and reclaim the streets from gangs. The organization began in 1977 as a loosely-knit peace movement. In 1993, the group incorporated as a nonprofit. Barrios Unidos runs the neighboring BU Productions, a full-service screen printing shop run by youth involved in the organization.
