The Garfield Park branch of the Santa Cruz Pubic Libraries has a rich history. The building, which still is…More fundamentally the same, was designed by William H. Weeks, who also designed Santa Cruz High School, Branciforte Elementary School, and the Palomar Hotel, and was paid for by a Carnegie Corporation grant, one of four awarded to build libraries in Santa Cruz in 1913. The branch offers a homework center for students 17 and younger, complete with nine computer terminals with Internet access, educational games and word processing programs.
