Derek Whaley, Neighbor

Derek Whaley is the author of Santa Cruz Trains: Railroads of the Santa Cruz Mountains. He has lived in Felton most of his life and worked at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in the Arcades and Games Department off-and-on from 2001 until 2013. He also volunteered as a photograph cataloger at the San Lorenzo Valley Museum in Boulder Creek and worked on the Editorial Board of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History's McPherson Publication Committee. He holds a doctorate in History from the University of Canterbury and currently resides in Auckland, New Zealand, where he works as a Research Librarian at the Takapuna Library.
